About me
Mark Cummings, Classical Artist & Madonnaro
Over the years I have experimented with all kinds of mediums in the hope of creating something beautiful that glorifies God. After years of self study, trial and error, observation and frustration, I moved to Florence, Italy to train at the Angel Academy of Art in 2003. This private atelier is focused on traditional 19th century techniques, composition and rendering. After graduating from the Angel Academy, December 2005, I relocated to southern California. Now I’m living in Mansfield, TX, with a long term goal to do portraiture and allegorical figure work using the techniques of the masters to enhance my own unique style.
Additionally, for over 20 years, I’ve been executing large scale pastel pieces know as 'Italian Street Painting', where artists use the street as their canvas and pastel chalk as their paint.
